The Rehearsal Dinner
The rehearsal dinner is usually held after the ceremony rehearsal. But it can be held just before the rehearsal or even on an entirely different day. It is usually hosted by the groom's parents.
You can choose an elegant formal dinner at a restuarant or Country Club, or a themed rehearsal dinner that reflects your interests. The event should be enjoyable for your guests and everyone should feel relaxed, welcomed and special.
The purpose of the rehearsal dinner is to get newly merging family members together in a relaxed, informal setting.
Either at the beginning or during the meal, introduce your families to each other. The bride can introduce her side and the groom can introduce his side. You can add personal comments about each guest to make them more personable.
This is also a good time to say thank you to your parents and attendants. You can give your attendants their gifts at this time.
