When interviewing photographers, ask what percentage of their business is in wedding photography. It takes a certain personality and talent to take wedding pictures. Make sure the person you select is an experienced wedding photographer.
If you are considering a large studio, there may be several photographers. Make sure you preview the work of the photographer who will actually be photograpghing your wedding.
Make sure you are comfortable with and like the photographer you choose. If you don't like the photographer, it will show in your pictures.
If the ceremony site has any restrictions in regards to photography and videography, make sure you inform the photographer and videographer.
When interviewing videographers, ask to see a demo tape. Look for clarity, steadiness, and a smooth transition in the coverage of events.
Ask the videographer if he can provide the groom with a wireless microphone to pick up the vows segment of your ceremony.
Make sure you understand whether you are purchasing an edited or unedited tape. If you envision your wedding video looking like something on tv, or if you want to include childhood photos, titles, special music or other special effects, then you will want an edited tape. Edited tapes are more expensive but provide a more finished, professional look due to the time, skill and talent required of the videographer after he has shot your wedding.
